Throw away your protein shakes. If you have five minutes and a blender, you can make this deliciously savory hot breakfast beverage with 30g of protein. Sip it while reading the paper or put it in a thermos to drink at the gym or at work.
Unlike most protein shakes, this recipe contains no sugar, preservatives, or ultra-processed ingredients. And it tastes incredible. Fiber-rich beans along with gut-healing bone broth make this beverage the perfect way to promote a healthy gut while “breaking the fast.”
As always, this recipe is fully modifiable. Try it with 2 pouches of Brodo instead of one, 2 eggs and 1/2 cup beans if you want fewer carbs, and add some kale or herbs.
Any Brodo broth would work beautifully, but it really shines when you use one of our flavors. In fact, we encourage you to switch it up to discover your favorite combo and keep your routine interesting.
Ingredients
- 1 pouch Brodo (any kind, although we prefer using Tuscan Sun, Deeply Rooted, Spicy Nonna, or Tom Yum)
